Need to continue the momentum in Boxing Day Test: Head
Melbourne, Dec 21 - Fresh from a series-levelling 146-run win in the second Test at Perth, Australia batsman Travis Head wants his side to continue the momentum when they face India in the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground here.
"We need to make sure we continue the momentum," Head was quoted as saying by "The Age".
"I thought the way we batted in the big moments of the game and the way we built pressure with the bat, the way we built pressure in the field, it was a great week. We will try to continue that on Boxing Day," he added.
Head scored a half-century in the second innings of the first Test at Adelaide to give India a scare even as the visitors eventually won by just 32 runs.
Then in the first innings of the second Test, his gritty 58 helped Australia post 326. But the southpaw isn't yet satisfied with his approach and wants to fix it before the third Test.
"It's OK to be positive, and we have been backed from the dressing room to be positive, and continue to play my game. It was probably a lot different from Adelaide -- it was grind it out, batted a lot of time in the middle," he said.
"The wicket (in Perth) was a bit different. Obviously (with) the pace of the wicket, I thought I could take on the game a little bit more.
"(I will) learn from that. We are going to Melbourne which is, obviously, a good batting wicket (and will try to go) back to how I batted in Adelaide," he added.
