7th January, Wellington (CRICKETNMORE) - New Zealand beat Sri Lanka by 193-runs on the final day of the second test against Sri Lanka at the Basin Reserve on Wednesday. New Zealand also won the series by 2-0.

Sri Lanka resumed the day five on 45/1 on Wednesday but lost four wickets before lunch. Only L Thirimanne (62*) and opener K Silva (50) showed some resitance against Kiwi's bowling before being bowled out for 196 in the second innings.

Off-spinner Mark Craig was the most successful bowler for New Zealand in the second innings. He took 4/53
