New Zealand vs India, 2nd ODI – NZ vs IND Cricket Match Prediction, Where To Watch, Probable XI And Fantasy XI Tips
Team India would look to stay alive in the 3-match series against New Zealand as both teams gear up to face off in the 2nd ODI in Hamilton.
NZ vs IND 2nd ODI: Match Preview:
Tom Latham and Kane Williamson starred in the 1st ODI as New Zealand chased down 307 runs to win the match. Latham and Williamson etched the highest 4th wicket partnership for New Zealand in ODIs to get the team across the finish line. Tom Latham scored 145* runs in just 104 balls, while Williamson remained not out on 94* runs. Finn Allen (22), Devon Conway (24) and Daryl Mitchell (11) failed to score big and would look to get amongst runs in the 2nd ODI.
In bowling, even though Tim Southee and Lockie Ferguson managed 3 wickets each, Southee conceded 73 runs in his 10 overs. Adam Milne also managed a wicket while pacer Matt Henry and spinner Mitchell Santner remained wicket-less. The bowlers would want to bowl a bit more economically against team India who are missing their regulars.
Indian batters started off well in the 1st ODI as openers Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill etched 124 runs for the 1st wicket as Gill scored 50 while Dhawan registered 72 runs. Shreyas Iyer was the top run scorer with 80 runs off 76 balls. Rishabh Pant continued his disappointing run while Suryakumar Yadav was unable to bring his golden form in T20Is to the longer format. Sanju Samson managed 36 runs off 38 balls, while Washington Sundar presented a strong case for himself at #8 with a thunderous 37 runs off 16 balls.
Bowling was and will be a huge concern for team India in this series. With a specialist pacer missing, Arshdeep Singh and Umran Malik, who made their debut in the 1st ODI, weren't very effective. While Umran managed 2 wickets at an economy of 6.60 in 10 overs, Arshdeep gave away 68 runs in 8.1 overs without picking up a wicket. Yzuvendra Chahal was also expensive without a wicket, while Washington Sundar impressed with the ball as well as he gave away just 42 runs in his 10 overs.
