All New Zealanders involved in the Indian Premier League(IPL) 2021 will be returning home on Friday after the postponement of the tournament amid rising Covid-19 cases. However, four Kiwis - Kane Williamson, Kyle Jamieson, Mitchell Santner, and Tommy Simsek - will remain in India.

The quartet will be in India till May 11 after which they will be flying to London where they will participate in New Zealand's two-test match series against England and World Test Championship Final.

Trent Boult, who was supposed to fly to England, however, will be returning to New Zealand on a charter flight to meet his family. He will be flying to England in June and will miss the first test against, which will start 2nd of June. However, there is a case of him joining the squad for the second test on 10th June.

The rest of the Kiwi squad who is based in New Zealand will be flying to England on 16th May where they will meet the quartet once the isolation period is complete for both groups.

“We’ve worked closely with the BCCI and the IPL franchises on the various departure strategies and we’re very appreciative of their support during what is, clearly, a very challenging time,” NZC chief executive David White said.

“We're also very grateful to the England and Wales Cricket Board for accommodating the early arrival of the four members of The test squad currently in India," he added.
