Pakistan Move To T20 World Cup Semifinal After Clean Sweeping Dominating Super 12
Pakistan's golden run in the T20 World Cup 2021 continued as they dominated Scotland in Sharjah and defeated them by 72 runs to enter the semifinals with five out five wins in the Super 12 stage.
Chasing 190, Scotland were never really in the game as they only managed 24 runs in the powerplay and lost the wicket of captain Kyle Coetzer.
None of the batters could break through the tight lines Pakistani bowlers bowled throughout the innings except Richie Berrington, who remained not out at 54 from 37 balls.
Although Scotland lost just six wickets, but they only managed 117 runs in the 20 overs and handed a big 72 run win to Pakistan.
Earlier, Babar Azam led the charge as his team smashed 189 runs in the first innings. Babar scored 66 off 47 balls with the help of five fours and three sixes. He got good support from Mohammad Hafeez in the middle who smashed 31 from 19 balls, including four fours and a six.
Veteran Shoaib Malik provided the perfect finish as he smashed the joint-fastest half-century of this tournament - 54 in 18 balls. His four sixes out of six came in the final over against Chris Greaves
