Pakistan's batting was rescued by Fawad Alam's century in the first test. No one from the top order, barring Azhar Ali in the first innings, looked settled against the fast bowlers. However, the lower order batting was a big plus for Pakistan. The majority of the runs came from the lower end of the batting. 

The bowlers were spot on in the first test for Pakistan. Shaheen Afridi will be a key, especially with the new ball. Haris Rauf could make his debut on a pitch that traditionally favors fast bowlers. Yasir Shah is in his top form and will trouble the Proteas' batsmen with his accuracy. 

South African batsmen looked unsettled for most of the game. In the second innings, they were much more comfortable defending, especially against the fast bowlers. Experienced players like Dean Elgar, Faf du Plessis, Aiden Markram, and captain Quinton de Kock will need to step up their game to help the team score big, in conditions, which might be slightly familiar to them. 

Kagiso Rabada will be leading the bowling attack in the pacer friendly conditions along with in-form Anrich Nortje. Keshav Maharaj has been accurate with his bowling and could be the X-factor for South Africa. 

South Africa, in the recent past, has struggled in the sub-continent conditions. Pakistan is looking favorites to win the test and sweep the series.
