PSL 2021: Babar Azam's 85 In Vain As Karachi Kings Fail To Chase 177 Against Multan Sultans
Despite Babar Azam's stylish 85 not out, Karachi Kings failed to finish off the 177 run target and ended up losing the game by 12 runs against Multan Sultans in the 16th match of Pakistan Super League(PSL) 2021.
Kings started the run-chase slowly as they could only manage 31 in the powerplay and lost the wicket of Sharjeel Khan early. Even though the runs came in over six runs per over in the middle overs but required run rate kept going higher.
Babar Azam and Chadwick Walton stitched a 77 run partnership in 45 balls for the fourth wicket which gave hopes of Kings getting closer to the target however a drama unfolded in the final few deliveries as Karachi lost four wickets inside seven balls. Azam remained stuck at the other end as Kings collapsed.
Earlier, a combined batting effort powered Multan Sultans to 176/5 in the first innings. Riley Rossouw smashed 44 off 24 while Khushdil Shah scored 44 from 32.
