VIDEO: Rishabh Pant Dismisses Rassie Van Der Dussen With A Catch; But Was The Catch Clean?

In the ongoing 2nd test match between South Africa & India, Shardul Thakur picked up 3 quick wickets in the 1st session of Day 2 and rattled the South African bowling. Thakur dismissed Rassie van der Dussen on the last ball before lunch, but was Rassie really out?

On the 4th ball of the 44th over, Shardul Thakur pitched a short ball around off that nipped back sharply. The batter looked to defend the ball but instead got an inside edge going on to the pad and straight to the wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant. 

However, in slow motion replay, it was visible that the catch taken by Rishabh Pant wasn't clean. The ball looked as if it had touched the grass before being taken by Pant. However, umpires gave it out, given that he had enough glove under the ball and the benefit of the doubt was given to the wicketkeeper. However, if the catch was cleanly taken, was Rishabh Pant right in appealing for the wicket, disregarding the 'spirit of the game'?

While talking about the match, South Africa are at 102/4 at Lunch on day 2. SA were cruising with a solid partnership between Dean Elgar & Keegan Petersen since morning until Thakur started his spell. He took 3 wickets in quick succession and pushed SA onto the backfoot. Earlier, India were bowled out for 202 after electing to bat first. KL Rahul scored 50 runs while Ashwin scored 46. Youngster Marco Jensen impressed again with his 4-wicket haul.
