Rizwan & Nawaz Help Pakistan To 5 Wicket Win Against India In Asia Cup 2022
IND vs PAK: Courtesy of yet another half-century by Rizwan, Nawaz's quickfire knock and Khushdil & Asi's finishing, Pakistan managed to beat team India in a last over thriller by 5 wickets in the 2nd match of Super 4 stage in Asia Cup 2022. Pakistan scored 182/5 in 19.5 overs to clinch a win against India after conceding a defeat earlier in the tournament.
Chasing a target of 182, captain Babar Azam continued his string of low scores as he was dismissed after scoring 14 runs in the 4th over. Fakhar Zaman (15) was also dismissed cheaply in the 9th over. But Mohammad Rizwan remained adamant at the other end as he batted through the 17th over before getting dismissed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
After getting promoted to #4 in the batting order, Mohammad Nawaz played an impactful knock of 42 runs in just 20 balls with 6 fours & 2 sixes, which proved to be a game changer. Rizwan meanwhile scored 71 runs in 51 balls with 6 fours & 2 sixes.
Khushdil Shah & Asif Ali at the end completed the win as these two smacked 3 fours & a six in 19 deliveries between them. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ravi Bishnoi, Hardik Pandya, Arshdeep Singh and Yuzvendra Chahal managed 1 wicket each for India.
In the first innings, 'King' Virat Kohli maintained his form in the ongoing Asia Cup 2022 as he smacked a half-century, powering team India to 181/7 against Pakistan in the second match of the Super 4 stage.
After being put in to bat first, India got off to good start as openers KL Rahul (28 runs in 16 balls) and Rohit Sharma (28 runs off 16 balls) scored 54 runs between them in just the first 5 overs.
Rohit was dismissed by Haris Rauf on the first delivery of the 5th over, and KL Rahul was dismissed in the next over by Shadab Khan. Suryakumar Yadav (13) was dismissed in the 10th over without causing much damage and so did Rishabh Pant (14) and Hardik Pandya (0).
However, Virat Kohli held one end as he scored 60 runs off 44 balls with 4 fours & a six before getting dismissed in the last over. Deepak Hooda (16 runs off 14 balls) also played a small important knock as he etched a partnership of 37 runs in 24 balls for the 6th wicket.
For Pakistan, none of the bowlers went wicketless. While Shadab Khan picked up 2 wickets, Naseem Shah, Mohammad Hasnain, Haris Rauf and Mohammad Nawaz registered 1 wicket each to their name.

Earlier, Pakistan captain Babar Azam won the toss & opted to bowl first against India in the 2nd match of the Super 4 stage in Asia Cup 2022. This match is being played at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai.
