Hussey withdrew from the match after picking up a calf injury while playing for the Sydney Thunder in the T20 Big Bash League Friday, reports cricket.com.au.

Rogers scored six consecutive half-centuries in the just-concluded Test series against India.

Rogers said it was "a great honour" to skipper the invitational team in the 50-over game, to be played at Canberra.

"This is an important fixture on the Australian cricketing calendar and is steeped in tradition," Rogers said to cricket com.au Sunday.

"I'm looking forward to following in the footsteps of Ricky Ponting, Brett Lee and others in leading this PM’s XI under lights at Manuka Oval."

The Prime Minister’s XI: Chris Rogers (captain), Cameron Bancroft, Jason Behrendorff, Matt Condon, Pat Cummins, Jake Doran, Peter Handscomb, Simon Mackin, Glenn Maxwell, David Moody, Lega Siaka, Max Wright (12th man).
