WATCH: Skipper Rohit Yet Again Heeds Ex-Skipper Virat Kohli's Advice For A DRS Call
India vs West Indies 1st T20I: In the ongoing 1st T20I between India and West Indies. After being put in to bat first, West Indies posted a total of 157. Now, team India needs 158 runs in 20 overs to win the 1st T20I against the Windies. Captain Rohit Sharma was seen at his best in terms of captaincy as he rotated the bowlers well enough to stop the tourists at an average total.
However, Rohit was yet again helped by the former captain Virat Kohli while deciding on the DRS call. A video from the IND vs WI 1st T20 has emerged where it can be seen that Rohit isn't interested to take a DRS for a particular delivery. However, when Virat assured Rohit, he ultimately decided to go for the review.
This incident happened in the 8th over when debutant's Ravi Bishnoi's delivery went very close to West Indies' batter Roston Chase's bat and pads, straight into wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant's gloves. Players went up in a rather unsure appeal, and the umpire adjudged it as not out. However, Virat Kohli came towards Rohit Sharma and was heard saying 'bat aur pad dono laga hai, do awaaz aayi hai mai bol raha hu na' (The ball has hit both bat and pad both, there were two noises, I'm confident).
Rohit Sharma immediately heeded Kohli's advice and went for the review. However, in the replay, it was cleared that the ball had no contact with Roston Chase's bat and was adjudged not out. Nevertheless, this incident again showed that Rohit trusts Virat's instincts and heeds his words.
