Jan. 1 (CRICKETNMORE) - After a poor show in the first test which South Africa won by 206 run in Port Elizabeth, Sri Lanka might be considering a couple of changes for the second of three Tests against South Africa, to start at Newlands in Cape Town on Monday (January 2).

Ahead of the second Test, the Sri Lankan captain Angelo Mathews hinted that there could be some changes in the playing XI. Mathews said that Kusal Perera might have to rework his strategy. Though he didn’t want the youngster to change his natural game, he did say that slashing the South African pacers on bouncy pitches “wasn’t the right game plan”. Chances re also that Upul Tharanga, the 31-year-old left-hand batsman can be included in playing XI.

South Africa looked certain to go into the match with an unchanged playing XI, but Sri Lanka doesn’t have the same luxury
