IND vs SL: A bowler's job is perhaps and arguably the toughest role among the players in the T20 format. In the batter-powered format, bowlers face a really hard time with being consistent with good performances and often go for plenty despite being in a good form.

Bowling with a good economy helps restrict the opposition from scoring is an obvious plus, but apart from this, the stop of flow of runs on one end often creates chances of a wicket on the other. Bowlers who don't take wickets but don't give runs as well help with the fall of wickets on the other end.

Let's take a look at the best economy rates for a bowler in an innings in India vs Sri Lanka T20Is.

#5. Akila Dananjaya (2.75, Colombo 2021)

Right arm off break/leg break Lankan bowler Akila Dananjaya recorded an economy of 2.75 in the 3rd T20I at Colombo and even though went wicketless, played a huge role in Sri Lanka restricting India to 81/8 in 20 overs after India opted to bat first. Sri Lanka chased down the target in 14.3 overs and won the match by 7 wickets.

#4. Ravindra Jadeja (2.75, Vishakhapatnam 2016)

After India opted to bowl first in the 3rd T20I at Vishakhapatnam in 2016, Sri Lanka were bowled out for a total of 82 in 18 overs. Ravindra Jadeja picked up a wicket and gave away just 11 runs in his 4 overs, including a maiden over which formed his economy to be 2.75. India chased down the total in 13.5 overs and won the match by 9 wickets.

#3. Jasprit Bumrah (2.50, Pune 2020)

In the 3rd T20I at Pune in 2020, Sri Lanka opted to bowl first and this decision backfired as Team India posted a total of 201/6 in 20 overs. In reply, Sri Lanka were restricted to 123 in 15.5 overs. Jasprit Bumrah bowled a mere 2 overs in the match, picked up 1 wicket and one of the overs was maiden. Bumrah gave away just 5 runs and recorded an economy of 2.50.

#2. Wanindu Hasaranga (2.25, Colombo 2021)

The #1 ranked T20I all-rounder, Wanindu Hasaranga proved to be unplayable for the Indian batters. The leg-break bowler gave away just 9 runs in his 4 overs and picked up 4 wickets. India were restricted to 81/8 in 20 overs, and Sri Lanka chased down the target in 14.3 overs, winning the match by 7 wickets.
