Stats: Highest Run Chases In West Indies vs India T20Is

On the other hand, two-time T20 World Cup champions West Indies would also look to sort their combinations in the upcoming 5-match series.

#5. West Indies (173/2, 2019)

After opting to field first in the 2nd T20I at Thiruvananthapuram in 2018, West Indies managed to halt India at 170/7 in 20 overs. Shivam Dube top scored for the hosts with 54 off 30 balls. In reply, West Indies openers - Lendl Simmons and Evin Lewis gave a blazing start as these two added 73 runs for the first wicket. Simmons remained not out on 67 runs in 45 balls as West Indies won the match by 8 wickets with 9 deliveries remaining. 


#4. India (182/4, 2018)

In the 3rd T20I at Chennai in 2018, West Indies posted 181/3 in 20 overs after opting to bat first. Nicholas Pooran and Darren Bravo top scored for the tourists with an unbeaten 53-off-25 and 43-off-37 respectively. In reply, southpaws Shikhar Dhawan and Rishabh Pant scored fifties as India chased down the total on the last ball of the match, winning by 6 wickets. Dhawan scored 92 runs off 62 balls while Rishabh Pant remained not out for 58 runs off 38 balls. 


#3. West Indies (194/1, 2017)

Being put in to bat first in the only T20I at Kingston in 2017, team India posted 190/6 on the board courtesy of collective contributions from all the batters. West Indies made an easy job of the target as opener Evin Lewis blasted an unbeaten 125 runs off 62 balls with 6 fours & 12 sixes. West Indies chased the total in 18.3 overs with 9 wickets in hand. 


#2. West Indies (196/3, 2016)

A heart-breaking match for all Indian cricket fans - the semi-final of the T20 World Cup in 2016. Virat Kohli, who was in an exuberant form throughout the tournament, scored an unbeaten 89 runs off 47 balls with 11 fours & a six as India posted 192/2 in 20 overs after being put in to bat first at Wankhede. 

In reply, Windies opener Johnson Charles scored 52 runs off 36 balls while Lendl Simmons smashed an unbeaten 82 runs off 51 balls, while Andre Russell remained unbeaten on 43 runs off 20 balls as West Indies chased down the total in 19.4 overs with 7 wickets in hand. 


#1. India (209/4, 2019)

The highest run chase in T20Is between India and West Indies belongs to team India. In the 1st T20I at Hyderabad in 2019, West Indies posted a massive total of 207/5 in 20 overs after being asked to bat first. Shimron Hetmyer top scored with 56 off 41 balls while Evin Lewis (40), Kieron Pollard (37) & Brandon King (31) made quick useful contributions.

In reply, Indian opener KL Rahul scored 62 runs off 40 balls while chase master Virat Kohli smashed an unbeaten 94 runs off 50 balls with 6 fours and 6 sixes to take team India to victory with 8 balls and 6 wickets remaining.
