Indian test skipper Virat Kohli has been one of the greatest batters ever to play the game. Many of his innings and performances have earned him the title of 'King', to a level that Australians, the most brutal fans in the world, also hail the 'King'.

India will be touring South Africa for 3 tests & 3 ODIs, which is set to start from December 26 with the boxing day test. The South African pitches have always troubled the Indian batters, with the uneven seam & bounce that the stadiums in South Africa provide.

If we take a dive through stats, since 2011, we'll see Cheteshwar Pujara as the 2nd highest run-scorer for India in South Africa, with 382 runs in 6 matches, averaging 34.72. In ODIs, the 2nd highest run-scorer for India is Shikhar Dhawan with 335 runs in 9 matches averaging 47.85.

Virat Kohli is on the top spot in both formats, and that too with a considerable difference. In tests, Kohli has registered 558 runs in 5 matches averaging 55.80 with 2 centuries & 2 half-centuries. While in ODIs, he has amassed 782 runs in 14 matches with an overwhelming average of 86.88.

The numbers clearly state how Virat Kohli is more comfortable than other Indian batters in South African conditions and will be the backbone of Indian batting in the tests starting from December 26. The fans will also be hoping to witness 'King's' 71st century which has been awaited since 2019.
