Sydney Sixers defeated Perth Scorchers to win their 3rd Big Bash League(BBL) title on Saturday.

Perth Scorchers got off to a brilliant start chasing 189 as they scored 43 in the powerplay. Cameron Bancroft, after giving a powerful start to the innings, got out on 30. Colin Munro failed to get going and got out soon on 2.

Liam Livingstone continued to keep Scorchers in the hunt as he scored 45 off 35 balls with the help of three fours and two sixes. The middle-order couldn't give justice to the start as none of the batters got going.

Aaron Hardie was left with too much in the end as he got out after scoring a fighting 26 off 13 balls. Perth remained short of the BBL title by 27 runs.

For Sixers, the bowling was led by Ben Dwarshuis as he picked up three wickets. Jackson Bird, Sean Abbott, and Daniel Christian got two wickets each.

Earlier, James Vince smacked 95 runs in the first innings to help Sydney reach 188/6. Vince hit ten fours and three sixes during his knock.

None of the batsmen, barring Vince, got more than 20 runs. Daniel Christian, Jordan Silk, and Carlos Braithwaite played cameos to give the finishing touch.

James Vince got awarded Man of the Match.

Brief Score:

Sydney Sixers - 188/6 (James Vince - 95; Andrew Tye - 2/29)

Perth Scorchers - 161/9 (Liam Livingstone - 45; Ben Dwarshuis - 3/37)
