T20 WC 17th Match: Afghanistan Floor Clueless Scotland As They Hand Them A 130 Run Defeat

Afghanistan bowlers, just like their batters, broke havoc on the Scottish team as they defeat them by 130 runs. Scotland openers gave a decent start - George Munsey scored 25 of 18 balls with 2 fours & 2 sixes while captain Coetzer scored 10 off but then Mujeeb ur Rehman shattered the opposition batting lineup. 

For Afghanistan, Mujeeb ur Rehman picked up a fifer, giving away 20 runs in his 4 overs. While ace Afghani spinner Rashid Khan picked up 4 wickets as well giving away just 9 runs. Naveen-ul-Haq picked up a wicket as well. 

For Scotland, apart from the openers only Chris Greaves was able to cross the double digit mark as he scored 12 off 12 balls. 6 batters went for a duck.

In the first innings, Afghanistan batters broke havoc on Scotland bowling attack as they smashed 190/4 in 20 overs in the first innings. For Afghanistan, Zadran scored 59 off 34 balls with 5 fours & 3 sixes, Gurbaz scored 46 off 37 balls with 1 fours & 4 sixes and in form opener Hazratullah Zazai smashed 44 off 30 balls with 3 fours & 3 sixes. 

For Scotland, Safyaan Sharif who is playing his 150th match, picked up 2 wickets. JOsh Davey and Mark Watt picked up 1 wicket apiece as well. 

Earlier, Afghanistan captain Mohammad Nabi won the toss & opted to bat first against Scotland in the 17th match of the T20 World Cup 2021. This match is being played at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah.
