T20 World Cup 2022 - Three Players Who Can Replace Ace Pacer Jasprit Bumrah In Team India
Team India has received a huge blow mere weeks prior to the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022. According to a report by PTI on September 29th (Thursday), Bumrah suffered a back injury yet again and has been ruled out for 4-6 months. On September 30th, BCCI confirmed that Bumrah has been ruled out of the ongoing T20I series against South Africa after missing out on the first match. In the current scenario, below are three players who can replace Bumrah in the T20 World Cup 2022 team India squad.
#1. Deepak Chahar
Deepak Chahar was named as a standby player for team India for the upcoming T20 World Cup. If Jasprit Bumrah is ruled out, Deepak can make his way to the main squad. The all-rounder is known for his good swing bowling and in the 22 T20I matches played for team India, Chahar has picked up 28 wickets at an economy of 8.08 while averaging 22.53. Chahar also played in the first IND vs SA T20I and picked up two wickets - Temba Bavuma & Tristan Stubbs, where both the batters scored a duck.
#2. Mohammed Siraj
In the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj was named the bowler's replacement for the ongoing T20I series against South Africa. BCCI can go with Siraj in the T20 World Cup 2022 due to his experience and good past performance in Australia, where the World Cup will be hosted this year. In 5 T20I matches, Siraj has picked up 5 wickets for team India.
#3. Mohammed Shami

Mohammed Shami missed out on the series against Australia and South Africa after being named in the squad and then contracting Covid. Named as a standby player in team India for the T20 World Cup 2022, Shami can very well solve Rohit Sharma & co.'s death over issues. The hit the deck and burst bowler Shami has picked up 18 wickets for team India in 17 T20Is. The bowler was removed from the T20I side earlier due to his high economy. However, his 20 wickets in 16 matches in the IPL 2022 has helped him make his way back to the team again and can replace Jasprit Bumrah in the main India squad for the T20 World Cup.
