ENG vs IND 1st ODI - Jasprit Bumrah, a bowler every batter who has faced has been uncomfortable at some point, grabbed his career best performance in ODI cricket and Rohit Sharma's 76 led India to a 10-wicket win over World Champions England in the first ODI.

After restricting England to a meagre total of 110, India displayed equally brutal destruction, chasing down the total in just 18.4 without losing a wicket. The commentators rightly stated 'Indian openers made a mockery out of the green tinge on the pitch which helped India in the first innings.'

Captain Rohit Sharma thrashed the English bowlers from the word go, scoring an unbeaten 76 runs off 58 balls with 6 fours & 5 sixes. His partner, Shikhar Dhawan, played the anchor with an unbeaten 31 off 54 balls as India cruised to victory in just 18.4 overs, taking a 1-0 lead in the 3-match ODI series.

An unplayable bowling performance by Jasprit Bumrah restricted the World Champions England to a meagre total of 110 in just 25.2 overs in the first ODI.

Bumrah started off things in style as he bowled a double-wicket maiden in the first over of his spell and second over of the English innings. Jason Roy and Joe Root walked back to the pavilion after scoring ducks.

Shami grabbed the third wicket in the form of Ben Stokes who also went for a duck. Bumrah then dismissed Bairstow (7) and Livingstone (0), completely dismantling the English batting. Moeen Ali was the next to depart as Prasidh Krishna grabbed his first wicket. Jos Buttler (30), the only batter who could stay at the crease for a while, was dismissed by Shami in the 15th over.

Captain Jos Buttler was the top scorer for the England team while Bumrah was the highest wicket-taker with 6 wickets, while Mohammad Shami picked up 3. Prasidh Krishna also picked up a wicket. India now needs 111 runs in 50 overs to win the first ODI of the 3-match series. Earlier, England captain Jos Buttler won the toss & opted to bowl first against India in the 1st ODI. This match is being played at Kennington Oval, London.
