Top Budget Buys Teams Might Look For In IPL 2022 Mega Auction
The IPL 2022 Mega Auction will be an interesting one where the teams will not only be looking for star players but also for those who can provide them good bench strength without costing them much.
A total of 488 players have registered themselves under the base price of INR 20-75 Lakhs. Most of these players are uncapped and/or coming into the IPL Auction for the first time.
The teams will need to make a solid bench strength since most of these players will carry on with the same team for the next three seasons. So the teams will look for those who can contribute for a long time and won't cost them much.
Let's take a look at some small budget players, teams can target in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction:
1) R Sai Kishore - The Tamil Nadu left-arm spinner has been a brilliant find in the Indian domestic circuit. Sai Kishore is an all-phase spinner with an economy of 5.46 in the T20s. He averages 17.4 and strikes at a rate of 19.1 with the ball. His base price is 20 lakhs and has been part of the Chennai Super Kings(CSK) in the 2021 season. Buying him for less than 1-2 crore will be a steal for any franchise.
2) Chamika Karunaratne - The Sri Lankan all-rounder is a clutch player who can finish the games for the team and provide four overs. His base price is 50 Lakhs and could be a player to watch out for if he ends up in any franchise for less than a crore.
3) Benny Howell - He is a very experienced T20 all-rounder from England. Benny Howell has played 141 T20s where he has scored over 2000 runs and picked 149 wickets. He is yet another player who has two skills coming with a small budget and will be a steal if any team gets him under 1.5 crore.
4) Rajvardhan Hangargekar - The India U19 star is a genuine fast bowler who has been very impressive in the ongoing World Cup. Rajvardhan Hangargekar bowls fast, can swing the ball, and has a decent yorker. It will be a great investment to have a hit-the-deck bowler with a base price of 30 lakhs.
