KKR vs DC IPL 2022: Varun Chakaravarthy has been a revelation ever since making his debut for Kolkata Knight Riders. The mystery spinner has been troubling the batters along with Sunil Narine and was consequently retained for 8 crores INR by KKR ahead of the IPL 2022. However, he had an off day against Delhi Capitals, and overstepped twice in the same over which cost him 24 runs!

On the first ball of the 11th over, being bowled by Varun Chakaravarthy, DC skipper Rishabh Pant was on strike. Pant was batting on 6*(5), and on the very first delivery, Pant found the right length and slog-swept for a six flat over deep mid-wicket.

On the second delivery, Rishabh Pant presented a Pant special shot as he reverse swept the good length delivery for a four, with his one hand coming off the handle. After a six and four, Pant played a dot ball on the third delivery.

On the fourth delivery, Varun's delivery around middle & leg length was pushed for a single. However, this was called a no-ball as the bowler had overstepped. David Warner, now on strike, missed the switch hit on the free hit delivery and still edged it for a four.

However, the nightmare didn't end here as the free hit was again called a no-ball due to the bowler overstepping. Warner then collected a double on the next free hit and then smacked another four on the fifth delivery, lofting an angled delivery cleanly over extra cover.

Varun Chakaravarthy finished with conceding 44 runs in his 4 overs while picking up an important wicket of Prithvi Shaw (51).
