VIDEO: Padikkal Given Not Out After A Clear Spike In Ultra Edge

Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bat first against Punjab Kings in the 48th match of the IPL 2021. This match is being played at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah. For PBKS, Henriques has been bowling well and has taken 3 important wickets.

In the early overs of RCB's batting, an unbelievable incident took place. Ravi Bishnoi was bowling the 8th over of the innings. On the 3rd delivery, Padikkal went for a reverse sweep but completely missed the ball. KL Rahul caught the ball and appealed for a caught behind which the umpire denied. 

The ball was very close to Devdutt's bat and gloves and KL Rahul thought that the ball had touched the batter's bat. KL Rahul took his DRS review.

In the Ultra Edge replay, there was a clear spike as the ball was going past the batter's gloves and KL Rahul had caught it cleanly. Everyone thought that this would be given out but the third umpire shocked everyone and allowed the on-field umpire to stay with his decision of not out. Not only Rahul seemed enraged by this decision, but the commentators were confused as well, questioning the high tech technology.
