The first test of the 2-match test series between India & New Zealand is being played at Green Park Stadium, Kanpur. After winning the toss, Indian captain Ajinkya Rahane opted to bat first. After a few early wickets, Ajinkya Rahane came in to bat at #4 and tried his best to anchor the innings and stop the fall of wickets.

Rahane looked in touch as he scored 35 runs in 63 balls with 6 fours and helped continue the innings. However, in the 50th over, Rahane was clean bowled by Kyle Jamieson. This is yet another instance of weird luck for the Indian skipper.

Rahane was bowled by Jamieson on the 2nd ball of the 50th over, however, on the first ball of the same over, Rahane was adjudged out, caught behind. However, Ajinkya went against this decision and reviewed it. The third umpire then adjudged him not out.

On the very next ball, Rahane was bowled by Jamieson. The Kiwi pacer bowled one short of length and Rahane was deceived by the lack of bounce, the ball took the bat's edge and went on to dislodge the stumps. While writing this piece, India are at 198/4 in 67 overs. Debutant Shreyas Iyer is on the crease at 49*, with Ravindra Jadeja batting at 17*.
