VIDEO: Ruturaj Gaikwad Slog Sweeps Jasprit Bumrah For A Six
The resumption of IPL 2021 couldn't have a better start than a blockbuster match between Chennai Super Kings(CSK) and Mumbai Indians(MI) in Abu Dhabi.
In the first innings itself, the match saw everything that makes T20 cricket interesting and entertaining - a top-order collapse, a rebuilding partnership, and the most important ingredient, power hitting.
Trent Boult and Adam Milne triggered a top-order collapse in the powerplay before youngster Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Ravindra Jadeja revived the innings with an 81 run partnership. Gaikwad, in particular, looked in amazing form to keep CSK alive in the match with his 88* run knock.
Jasprit Bumrah - the death-over specialist, yorker king - was given the usual duty to bowl the final over of the first innings. Gaikwad on the other hand was breathing fire at the other hand and even Bumrah couldn't stop it.

Bowling the final ball of the innings, Bumrah attempted a yorker which Gaikwad anticipated and got on his knees early to reach it. The timing was perfect and so was the execution as Gaikwad slog-swept Bumrah for a six over mid-wicket to finish the inning and get CSK to a competitive total of 156.
