Vijay Hazare Trophy: Ruturaj Gaikwad Shows 'Unreal' Consistency, Completes 400 Runs In Just 3 Matches
In the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy tournament, Ruturaj Gaikwad, the orange cap winner in IPL 2021, has shown unreal consistency as he smashed his 3rd consecutive hundred while representing Maharashtra in Vijay Hazare Trophy.
The CSK-star smacked 124 runs off 129 balls while opening for Maharashtra, with 9 fours & 3 sixes. It was due to this inning by Gaikwad, and Rahul Tripathi' 99 that Maharashtra has set a target of 292 against Kerela.
Earlier, Ruturaj smashed 154* runs from 143 balls with 14 fours & 5 sixes against Chhattisgarh and 136 runs off 112 balls with 14 fours & 4 sixes against Madhya Pradesh. Maharashtra won both the matches by 8 wickets & 5 wickets respectively. Both these centuries came while chasing and this shows the young batter's class, talent & skills.
Earlier this year, Gaikwad smacked 635 runs in 16 matches and was the highest run-scorer in the IPL, winning the orange cap. His bulk of runs and the partnership with Faf du Plessis were major factors involved in CSK's fourth IPL title victory.

With this performance, he is already knocking on Indian selectors' doors. He was a part of the Indian squad that went to Sri Lanka and he's been in impeccable form. It seems only a matter of time until this youngster becomes limited over permanent in the Indian team.
