Two days after Virat Kohli's shocking resignation as the captain of the Indian test team, another news related to the former captain has surfaced. King Kohli was given a chance to captain his team for the last time in his 100th test match, to be possibly played against Sri Lanka in Bangalore.

According to reports, a top BCCI official had offered Virat Kohli that he can captain the Indian team in his 100th test. However, Virat Kohli denied this offer, stating that 'One match makes no difference, That's not how I am.'

On Friday, when Kohli expresses his decision to step down, a BCCI official asked Kohli to quit as Test captain after his 100th test and gala at Bangalore during a phone call.

The reports also state that Virat Kohli would have quit as the captain even if India managed to win the series against South Africa. Before making this decision, Kohli spoke with team India's head coach Rahul Dravid, his teammates and finally to BCCI.

Even though BCCI was happy letting Virat Kohli captain the test series against Sri Lanka in February, Virat thought otherwise. He wanted to quit captaincy to focus on his batting. 'King' Kohli started his captaincy career with twin tons at Adelaide seven years ago, and struggled to find form in his last match as captain.
