Warner, Smith Back As Australia Announce Playing XI For 1st T20I vs Sri Lanka
Australia has announced the playing XI for the first T20I against Sri Lanka which is scheduled to be played on 7th June at R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.
With Pat Cummins and Adam Zampa not part of the T20 squad, Ashton Agar and Kane Richardson will be coming in their place as Australia has kept a similar combination of three pacers that won them the T20 World Cup 2021 in November.
According to Aaron Finch, as reported by cricket.com.au, the conditions are expected to be green which might help the pacers more. The omission of Josh Inglis was termed 'unfortunate' by the Australian captain.
After missing out in the recent T20Is against Sri Lanka and Pakistan: batting stars David Warner, Mitch Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, and Steve Smith are back in the playing XI and so are the pacers Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood.
