They say age is just a number and James Anderson keeps proving why this cliched phrase is true. The 39-year-old fast bowler, on every outing, gives his 100% be it bowling, batting, or fielding.

England hasn't played its best cricket in the ongoing Ashes series and are already 2-0 down. It is the time when the team look up to its senior players for inspiration.

James Anderson has had a great day 2 at the MCG where he picked up four wickets, including that of Steve Smith and David Warner. He was swinging the ball hard and getting the movement off the pitch as well.

He bowled more than 20 overs on day 2 and in the third session was fielding inside the circle to stop quick runs that Australian tailenders were looking to take.

Australia captain Pat Cummins tried to hit a boundary that went close to mid-on, where Anderson was standing. The ball was in the air and Anderson had to stretch high towards his right. The ball was too far but the attempt was as good as it gets.

At one point the 39-year-old was looking like a superman that could do nothing wrong today. The only difference was Anderson worked in the daylight and superman at night.
