During Day 3 of the Sydney Test, Stokes and Jonny Bairstow were rebuilding the England innings after being four down for 36. They managed to add 21 runs in the next eight overs before a bizarre incident shocked everyone.

On the first ball of the 30th over, Cameron Green bowled angling in delivery into Stokes and it clipped something, which the Australians thought was the batters' pad. They appealed and the umpire gave it out.

But Stokes was confident that it didn't his pad and immediately took the review. On replays, it was revealed that the ball didn't hit his pad but the stumps and to everyone's surprise, the bails didn't come off.
