'Abe Yaar': Natalie Sciver's Lucky Escape Leaves Indians Shocked
India women's cricket team had a bad in the field. Nothing they did or they planned to do succeeded. It all began when Indian captain Mithali Raj lost the toss and was put in to bat first by England's Heather Knight.
The Indian batters couldn't survive more than 36 overs and got bowled after putting just 134 runs on the board. Nothing happened in favor of India.
Defending a small target, that too in 50 overs, against the defending champions - a team needs a lot of skills and a bit of luck to go in their way. But nothing was happening and nothing happened as India attempted to defend 135 as well.
Indian bowlers had all the skills as they reduced England to 4/2 inside three overs. The defending champions were under pressure but India needed to continue getting wickets.
Natali Sciver struck the first ball she faced for a boundary. India needed that wicket and only Jhulan Goswami could have provided it. In the same over, Jhulan did everything she could. The ball hit the inside edge of the bat and went straight to the stumps.
The ball hit the stumps, there was a loud noise and the Indians roared only to find that the bails didn't fall. Sciver survived and smiled, knowing she was done and dusted had the luck wasn't her way.
