WATCH: Captain Gets Captain; Hardik Pandya Dismisses Mayank Agarwal With A Short Ball

PBKS vs GT IPL 2022: Hardik Pandya has shown tremendous form with the ball in his hand since his return, and now has become the go-to bowler for the Titans inside the powerplay. In the third match for GT, Pandya struck yet again as he dismissed Punjab Kings captain Mayank Agarwal. 

Mayank Agarwal has failed to perform this season with the bat till now and after facing 8 balls for his 5 runs, but was yet again dismissed. In the 2nd over, being bowled by GT skipper Hardik Pandya, Mayank Agarwal showed haste on the last delivery. Pandya bowled the ball on a short length and Mayank spliced it for a simple catch. Rashid Khan, fielding at mid-wicket, made no mistake and completed the catch, dismissing the Punjab opener. 

It is noteworthy that both the captains - Mayank Agarwal & Hardik Pandya have been appointed full-time captains for the first time in their IPL careers. While Mayank is leading Punjab Kings after KL Rahul decided to go into the auction, Hardik Pandya was picked as a draft pick by his home team Gujarat Titans and was appointed the captain.

While talking about the match, Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya won the toss & opted to bowl first against Punjab Kings. Liam Livingstone carried his good form as he smacked 64 runs off 27 balls with 7 fours and 4 sixes. Rahul Chahar provided an excellent finish at the end with 22 runs off 14 balls with 2 fours and a six. For GT, Rashid Khan picked up 3 wickets while Darshan Nalkande picked up 2. Mohammad Shami, Hardik Pandya & Lockie Ferguson managed 1 wicket each. This match is being played at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai.
