WATCH: Chahal's Mistake Which Cost Rajasthan Royals IPL 2022 Title; Drops Match-Winner Shubman Gill On 0
In the final match of IPL 2022, Gujarat Titans defeated Rajasthan Royals by 7 wickets to lift their maiden IPL title. In this match, GT's star batter Shubman Gill once again displayed excellent batting performance and smacked a wonderful 6 to take the team to victory. Amidst this, Yuzvendra Chahal committed a huge mistake, and the Royals had to ultimately pay the price of it.
Yuzvendra Chahal had dropped Shubman Gill's catch when the batter was on a duck, after which Shubman didn't look back and went back to the pavilion only after guiding his team to a win. Had Chahal not dropped Shubman's catch when he was on a duck, Rajasthan Royals would have made a brilliant comeback to win their second IPL title ever.
This incident happened in the first over of Rajasthan Royals' innings. The fourth delivery by Trent Boult had Shubman Gill beat and the ball went straight to square leg fielder Chahal after contacting the bat. Yuzvendra Chahal dived seeing the ball in the air but failed to catch the ball and this golden opportunity was missed. After this, Shubman scored an unbeaten 45 runs and took his team to their maiden IPL title.
