WATCH: Cheteshwar Pujara Shows His Grit In Limited Overs Cricket; Smacks 22 Runs In An Over In Death
While playing for Sussex, Cheteshwar Pujara on Friday at Edgbaston in the Royal London One-Day Cup match between Warwickshire and Sussex, scored a thunderus century to bring excitement in a limited overs match. Captaining his team, in 79 balls Pujara smacked 7 fours and 2 sixes to score 107 runs. During this the Indian batter smacked 22 runs in the 45th over of the innings.
Sussex required 70 runs in the last 6 overs to win the match against Warwickshire. After which, Cheteshwar Pujara took on Liam Norwell with all his might. Norwell was bowling his tenth & last over of the match, against whom Pujara scored 4,2,4,2,6,4 in the six deliveries respectively. Courtesy of this onslaught by Pujara, match was pretty much brought into the balance for both the teams.
However, this knock by Pujara wasn't enough to take Sussex to victory. Batting first, Warwickshire scored 310 runs in 50 overs for a loss of 6 wickets. In reply, Sussex lost 7 wickets and were able to score 306 runs, just 4 runs shy of the target. This was Sussex's first defeat in 3 matches this season. Krunal Pandya played an important role in Warwickshire's win as he picked yp 3 wickets with the ball.

It is noteworthy that Pujara has continued to impress on English soil consistently. Earlier he scored more than 1000 runs in county cricket, due to which he was able to make a comeback to the Indian test side. The veteran batter has followed it up with impressive performance in the 50-over format as well.
