GT vs PBKS IPL 2022: Punjab Kings registered a huge victory against table-toppers Gujarat Titans, chasing down the target with 4 overs & 8 wickets in hand. PBKS were on their way to an easy win after the base provided by Shikhar Dhawan & Bhanuka Rajapaksa. However, Liam Livingstone powered the Kings to a net run rate boosting win as he smacked 26 runs in an over against Mohammad Shami.

Livingstone has been rather inconsistent this season for the Punjab Kings after being bought for 11.50 crores INR in the IPL 2022 mega auction. In this match, Jonny Bairstow, who has been struggling with form, was sent to open in place of captain Mayank Agarwal. The skipper didn't come out to bat after Punjab lost their second wicket, hoping for a quick finish.

And Liam Livingstone delivered just that as he smacked an unbeaten 30 runs in 10 balls with a strike rate of 300. Punjab Kings required 27 runs to win in 30 balls as Mohammad Shami came on to bowl.

Shami delivered an in-angling length ball and Livingstone cleared his front leg and swung his bat with might, flogged it over deep square leg into the stands. The replay showed that the ball travelled 117 metres, which is the longest six in the ongoing IPL 2022 till now.

Punjab Kings chased down the total as the over ended and won the match by 8 wickets with 4 overs remaining. With this huge win, Punjab Kings are now placed in the 5th spot as compared to their 8th spot prior to this match.
