ENG vs NZ 1st test: After wreaking havoc in the LV= Insurance County Championship, Matthew Potts was handed his debut cap for the first test match against New Zealand at Lord's. Potts struck in his first over as he dismissed the New Zealand captain Kane Williamson for just 2 runs.

After opting to bat first, New Zealand had a disastrous start as they lost the first three wickets in just 7.1 overs for a mere 7 runs. After the Kiwis lost their first wicket (Will Young) in the third over for 2 runs, captain Kane Williamson came out to bat and held the crease at one end, trying to slow down the fall of wickets.

On the other end, New Zealand lost Tom Latham in the 5th over and Devon Conway in the 8th over. Potts was brought into the attack to bowl the 10th over after stalwarts James Anderson & Stuart Broad had bowled 5 & 4 overs and picking up 2 wickets and a wicket respectively.

Potts looked all over Kane Williamson in the over as he didn't allow the batter to score a single run in the first 4 deliveries, troubling him with 133 KMPs deliveries on the good length on off.

On the 5th delivery, Potts bowled a full delivery, just outside off with a bit of away movement. Kane Williamson pushed at it with a bit of intent and immediately realized his error in judgment. English wicket-keeper Ben Foakes completed an easy catch as MattyPotts picked up his first international wicket in the very first over he bowled in Test cricket, and that too of the opposition captain Kane Williamson.

Earlier, New Zealand captain Kane Williamson won the toss & opted to bat first against England in the first test match of the three-match series. This match is being played at Lord's, London.
