With a new team, PBKS won 2 out of 4 matches, but the skip's bat remained silent. However, the right-handed opener gained form as he smacked his first half-century as Punjab skipper.
In the match between Mumbai Indians & Punjab Kings, Mayank Agarwal opened the innings for Punjab Kings as usual. After a string of single-digit scores in the last three matches, Mayank took on Basil Thampi in the first over and smacked him for two fours in the over.
Batting against Bumrah & Ashwin, the Punjab Kings' skipper didn't lose his focus and kept on scoring runs as Dhawan partnered at the other end with his anchor role. Mayank played the aggressor and went on to complete his maiden IPL 2022 half-century with a six against Tymal Mills in the 9th over.
The 31-year old batter smacked 6 fours and 2 sixes before he was dismissed by Murugan Ashwin in the 10th over. However, the Punjab openers added 97 runs in 57 balls for the opening wicket.
