DC vs LSG IPL 2022: Cricket is a gentlemen's game and players often display sportsman spirit in a match, without caring about the team's position in the match. However, Mitchell Marsh may have been an overly gentleman today as he walked off after being adjudged out, without even using the DRS review available, which cost Delhi Capitals a crucial wicket in the run chase against Lucknow Super Giants.

Chasing a huge target of 196, DC lost their in-form openers Prithvi Shaw (5) and David Warner (3) in the 2nd and 3rd over respectively. However, Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh and captain Rishabh Pant held the crease in the powerplay, smashing a combined 60 runs in 25 balls for the fourth wicket.

Krishnappa Gowtham, who was included in the LSG playing XI today, was brought on to bowl the 8th over of the innings. On the very first delivery, Gowtham bowled a flat, fast and full delivery. Mitchell Marsh stayed back in his crease and slashed big without moving his feet.

Marsh missed it and Quinton de Kock completed a quick collect and appealed with belief that the batter had faintly edged the delivery. The umpire adjudged the batter out, and Mitchell Marsh was confused. However, he walked away without using a review.
The replays showed no spike in the UltraEdge as the ball passed Marsh's bat.

This meant, Marsh just threw his wicket away at a crucial time, when he had to take the team closer to the target with captain Rishabh Pant.

After the umpire raised his finger, K Gowtham gave an unknowing expression and maybe even he had an idea that the batter didn't edge the ball. At the time of Marsh's dismissal, Delhi Capitals still required 122 runs in 78 balls.
