IPL 2022 GT vs LSG: A stunning start to the battle of two new franchises' debut - KL Rahul, probably India's best batter in limited overs format at the moment & playing his first match in Lucknow Super Giants' jersey, recived an unplayable delivery from renowned pacer Mohammad Shami and went for a golden duck.

In the match between Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants, KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock came out to open the innings for Lucknow Super Giants. Lucknow skipper KL Rahul took the strike and right-arm pacer Mohammad Shami opened the bowling for Gujarat Titans.

Shami delivered the first ball on a fullish length around the off stump. KL Rahul went half-forward to defend the ball and in the process, the bat touched his pads. However, the ball also touched KL's bat's outside edge at the same time. Gujarat bowler Shami, wicketkeeper Wade and slip-fielder Gill instantly went up in an appeal.

The umpire however denied this appeal, probably thinking that the sound was produced due to the bat touching the pad. However, Hardik Pandya, after a minute of hesitation and then being convinced by Wade and Shami to take the review, took his first review as skipper on the very first ball. The ultra edge showed a spike in the replay as well as a clear deflection in the ball's path after passing through the bat.

The umpire reversed his decision and KL Rahul had to walk back to the pavilion for a golden duck. Notably, the former Punjab Kings' teammates have a one-sided competition between them where Mohammad Shami has dismissed KL Rahul in 3 out of 4 T20 matches.

While talking about the match, Gujarat Titans' captain Hardik Pandya won the toss & opted to bowl first against Lucknow Super Giants in the 4th match of IPL 2022. This match is being played at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
