WATCH: Rahul Tripathi's One-Handed Stunner To Dismiss Shubman Gill
Fielding plays a huge part in modern-day cricket, especially T20 format. Fielders throw around themselves to save every single run. Following the pattern around how fielding has slowly become a crucial part, the catching levels have also gone up high in cricket.
Fielding in the inner circle inside the powerplay is another tough task to do. New ball and batters trying to smack every shot hard become tough for the fielders to stop the ball. But the levels have gone high and the players aren't scared of the fast traveling ball.
The fearlessness and the high-level fielding were on display today when Rahul Tripathi grabbed, probably, the catch of the tournament during the Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Gujarat Titans match in the IPL 2022.
In the third over of the inning, Shubman Gill smacked a powerful drive that was traveling hard in the air. Rahul was fielding at covers and didn't have much time to react but the years of practice helped him grab a stunning catch.
Tripathi jumped into the air and stretched his left hand in the direction of the ball. His jump timing was so perfect that he caught the ball in the mid-air. Tripathi balanced himself well and even though he fell, the ball was still in his hands.
It was an absolutely stunning catch and even his teammates were surprised that Tripathi caught the ball successfully. All SRH players gathered around Tripathi to congratulate him. Even in the dugout, SRH coaching staff, including head coach Tom Moody looked in utter disbelief watching Rahul Tripathi's catch.
