WATCH: Ross Taylor Scripts Perfect End, Gets The Final Wicket In His Final Test
NZ v BAN: Farewell tests are hard not only for the player but also for that player's fans. All the cricket fraternity wishes that the player has a perfect last match to end their career. Ross Taylor had just the perfect end to a great test career.
Yes, New Zealand won and leveled the series against Bangladesh, that was the priority of Ross Taylor but to make his fans happy would definitely be somewhere there in the wish list of his last test.
Taylor only had to bat once in this test as Bangladesh were asked to follow on. In his last inning, Taylor scored 28 runs in 39 balls and was given a standing ovation both the times he walked in and out of the field.
On day 3, Bangladesh were on the verge of loss when they were 278/9, still behind New Zealand's score by 117 runs. It was getting dark and umpires decided that only slow bowlers could operate.
Ross Taylor was playing with his fans by rolling his arms with the ball but not actually bowling. However, after a brief chat, Taylor was asked to bowl.
Taylor had last bowled in a test match 8 years ago against Bangladesh and in his final test against the same team, he was once again marking his runup.
The batter was Ebadot Hossain, the bowler who got Taylor's wicket in his last outing in test cricket. He bowled two dots and on the third ball, Hossain slashed the ball in the air and Latham grabbed a high catch.
