WATCH: RR Skipper Sanju Samson Uses An Excellent DRS To Dismiss KKR Captain Shreyas
KKR vs RR IPL 2022: Captains being involved in dismissing opposition captains is an entertainment-filled moment for the viewers. Such an incident was yet again witnessed in the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals, where RR captain Sanju Samson first completed a catch and then took an excellent review to send KKR captain Shreyas Iyer back to the pavilion.
Chasing a modest total, KKR lost the opener, Aaron Finch, in the 4th over at a mere total of 16. Shreyas Iyer walked in to bat with a responsibility - to keep one end and help KKR cross the line. Iyer played a good inning while he was on the field as he scored 33 runs in 24 balls with 3 fours and a six.
However, in the 13th over being bowled by Trent Boult, first the batter's minor fault and then Samson's excellent review, sent Shreyas Iyer back to the dugout while the team needed 61 runs to win the match. Boult delivered a short delivery which was angling down the leg side. Iyer tried to pull and there was a sound as it went to the keeper.
The umpire, however, adjudged it as a wide delivery. Samson instantly went for the review and the UltraEdge showed a spike as the ball crossed the batter's glove. Iyer was dismissed after scoring 33 runs.
