WATCH: Shaheen Afridi Smashes 22 Runs In Last Over To Take Game Into Super Over
Shaheen Shah Afridi is just 21 years old but has already won the world with his bowling. His pace and swing has left many batters wondering. The question of the cricket fraternity watching Afridi's rise in the cricket is whether there is anything he can't do and the answer to that question is, no - the 21-year-old can do anything he wishes on the cricket field.
On Monday, during the 30th match of the Pakistan Super League(PSL), Shaheen Afridi not only contributed with the ball but also with the bat in hand.
Captain Afridi came out to bat when Lahore Qalandars were in deep trouble, struggling at 96/6. Afridi began helping Mohammad Hafeez to keep Qalandars in the game as the duo added 33 runs for the seventh wicket.
Hafeez got out with the equation reading 30 off 12 balls which converted into 23 from the final over. Things surely looked down and out from the perspective of Lahore but their captain stood up.
After Mohammad Umar bowled the first ball wide, Afridi smacked the next three deliveries 4,6,6 and the equation was now 7 off 3 balls. Umar nailed his yorkers as things went down to 7 off the last ball.
Afridi swung his bat hard on the length ball and smacked the ball over the deep mid-wicket boundary for a six to take the game into the super over. As soon as he smacked the six, Afridi also turned up with a similar celebration of another Pakistani legend who also goes by the name Afridi with Shahid in the front.
