WATCH: Tom Hartley Proves 'Catches Win Matches'
Among many popular sayings in the world of cricket, 'Catches Win Matches' is surely the crowd favorite. It is one of the best ways to describe a wicket - if you believe in the big moments' theory and for those who believe, you got yourselves yet another story to cite in your arguments.
The classic Yorkshire vs Lancashire match once again turned out to be a thriller of a game where the result was only decided on the last ball, just like in the previous encounter which ended in a tie where both teams were stuck on 183.
In yesterday's game as well, the match had all possibilities opened when Yorkshire required six off the last ball with Dominic Drakes on strike facing Danny Lamb. The fact that both weren't having a great night before this ball made the event more intense and interesting.
Lamb bowled a full ball wide outside off stump and Drakes timed it the best he could, slicing towards the deep point. The ball was traveling nicely but kept dipping as it approached the boundary where Tom Hartley was standing.
Hartley, however, had to time his jump perfectly and he did. He grabbed the ball but the ball was traveling nicely so he had to balance himself perfectly and had to check whether his shoes touched the boundary, they didn't and Lancashire managed to defend the 214-run target by just four runs.

There were several performances that made the match it was - Tim David's 66 off 32, Tom Kohler-Cadmore's 77, David Willey's 52, and several quick 40s from the Lightning batters. However, it eventually turned out to be a matter of a few inches that made the match it was - a classic.
