Just the mention of IPL (Indian Premier League), paints a picture of enthusiasm, cheer, grand auctions, and of course glamorous celebrities. IPL 2021 Teams

The eight confirmed teams that will be battling it out in IPL 2021 are - Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Kings XI Punjab, Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

As per the reports from various sources, a new franchise based on Ahmedabad city may also be added. The addition of the ninth team to IPL 2021 will be a strategic move by BCCI.

IPL 2021 - When, Where, How?

According to media reports, IPL 2021 is likely to begin from 11th April 2021 and the final of the tournament will be organised in the first week of June 2021.

The auction is set to take place on February 18 in Chennai and it will decide the fate of the Indian and foreign players participating in the league. A total of 1097 players have registered for the mini-auction which will witness the participation of eight IPL franchises – CSK, MI, RCB, SRH, DC, RR, KXP and KKR.

IPL 2020 took place in UAE due to the pandemic without a live audience. BCCI President and veteran cricketer Saurav Ganguly has announced that IPL 2021 will be played in India. It is yet to be decided if fans will be allowed in the stadium. BCCI is considering limiting the audience size to 50% of the stadium capacity. However, the final decision will be taken based on the success of the vaccine in India.

As per speculations, ed-tech startup Unacademy may replace Vivo as the title sponsor for the event this year.
