Mathew Wade starred in Australia's terrific win over Pakistan in the T20 World Cup semifinal on Thursday.

It was a tricky chase where Australia were 96/5 in the 13th over with more than 80 runs left to chase and not much batting left. Wade along with Marcus Stoinis not only chased down the target but remained unbeaten as well.

On being asked by Cricketnmore about the conditions and if the dew had any impact on the run-chase, Wade said: "There was a little bit of dew I think, you might have to ask Pakistani fielders about that. I felt that the dew was coming a little bit. The wicket played really well,".

When asked about whether Australia were confident of chasing a total of 177 at the halfway stage, Wade revealed that they hoped to restrict Pakistan under 160 but were still confident to chase it down.

"We were confident. We kept the total to something we could definitely chase. We were probably hoping under 160 mark but they got going in the backend to stretch the total."

The wicketkeeper-batter, who scored 41 off 17, said losing Aaron Finch in the first over affected them but praised David Warner's innings.

"We were confident then we lose our captain, you start to lose chase your tail a little bit but David Warner's innings was terrific as well to guide us to somewhere we could launch at the backend," Wade concluded.
