ENG v IND: It was just another outing for James Anderson at Lord's on Friday when he picked his seventh five-wicket haul at the 'home of cricket'.

The 39-year old finished with the figures of 5/62 and became the oldest fast bowler to take a fifer in a test match in 70 years. It was his 31st five-wicket haul and 23rd at home. His 23 fifers are the fifth most by any bowler at home.

The third-highest wicket-taker in tests has been no less than a nightmare for India, especially while playing at Lord's. In nine innings so far, Anderson has picked up 33 wickets at this particular ground against the Indians, including four five-wicket hauls - 2007, 2011, 2018, and 2021. He missed out on a fifer in 2014, where he picked four wickets. These 33 wickets have come at a glorious average of just 15.72.

Interestingly, just two days ago, James Anderson was uncertain to play the 2nd test due to a niggle in his thigh.

The 39-year-old Anderson now has 626 Test wickets, with only two retired spinners in Sri Lanka's Muttiah Muralitharan (800 wickets) and Australia's Shane Warne (708) ahead of him in the all-time list.
