England all-rounder Ben Stokes has been given a warning for using saliva on the ball during the 2nd ODI against India on Friday.
The incident happened in the fourth over of the match when Reece Topley was bowling. Stokes, in slips, accidentally applied saliva on the ball which immediately caught the eye of on-field umpires - Nitin Menon and Virender Sharma.

The umpires immediately took the ball and sanitized it as per the Standard Operating Procedure(SOP). Applying saliva has been banned by ICC in the post-Covid era.
It is not the first time Ben Stokes has been given a warning for applying saliva to the ball. In the 3rd Test Match between India and England, the all-rounder was warned for applying saliva on the pink ball.
