After a jittery start, Rovman Powell & Rishabh Pant took Delhi Capitals from 50/4 in 9 overs to 106/4 in 15 overs. Mumbai Indians' captain Rohit Sharma made a surprising decision, as he handed the 16th over to Ramandeep Singh, who didn't bowl a single over prior to this in the match.

After conceding two singles off the first two deliveries, Ramandeep bowled a delivery on full & wide outside off, and Pant opened the face of the bat, slicing it with a square drive well wide of the sweeper.

The right-arm medium bowler followed up with two wide deliveries. With Rishabh Pant on strike, this seemed like a good move as the batter was dismissed previously on wide deliveries in the tournament while playing away from his body.

Pant then smacked Ramandeep for a four as he came down the track and swung it hard. The batter lost his shape and sliced it over the third's head for a four. The next delivery was yet again a wide, third of the over.

On the next delivery, Ramandeep bowled a slower & shorter delivery on the stumps. Pant waited & swung the pull over fine-leg for a six as the bowler conceded 19 runs in the first 5 deliveries.

However, the bowler tried around the stumps angle and bowled a seam up delivery outside off. The DC skipper tried to dab it and by the time he checked the shot, the ball had already taken a nick through to the Mumbai Indians' keeper Ishan Kishan. The Delhi captain was dismissed after scoring 39 runs in 33 deliveries with 4 fours & a six and completing a 75-run partnership for the 5th wicket with Rovman Powell.
