MI vs SRH IPL 2022: Rahul Tripathi took on Jasprit Bumrah in a crucial clash for Sunrisers Hyderabad against Mumbai Indians.

MI vs SRH IPL 2022 - A name that has consistently performed without getting noticed from the past few seasons - Rahul Tripathi. Yet, the batter has been the highest run-scorer for his franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad. In an all-important match against Mumbai Indians, Tripathi took on Jasprit Bumrah, the best bowler in the opposition, smacking him for 14 runs in 3 deliveries. 

Rahul Tripathi has already smacked 2 fifties in this season, maintaining a strike rate of 160.36 while batting at no. 3 position for Sunrisers Hyderabad. After SRH lost their opener, Abhishek Sharma, early on against MI, in the 3rd over, Rahul came out to bat. 

Mumbai Indians Jasprit Bumrah came on to bowl the 5th over of the SRH innings. Rahul pulled the ace pacer for a six over deep mid-wicket on the fourth delivery of the over. Bumrah delivered the next delivery off-cutter on length. Tripathi read it well and shuffled across in a crouched stance to steer it for a boundary directly past short third man. 

Jasprit Bumrah bowled a yorker on the last delivery at 144 KPH. However, Tripathi dominated the battle as played a full-faced front-foot crunch through the covers for a four.

Rahul Tripathi was released by his former franchise Kolkata Knight Riders ahead of IPL 2022 Mega Auction. An intense bidding war was waged first between Kolkata and Chennai Super Kings, and then between Chennai & Hyderabad, before SRH finally acquired the batter for 8.50 crores INR.

While talking about the match, Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma won the toss & opted to field first against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 65th match of IPL 2022. This match is being played at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
