Double ton against Sri Lanka in 2014 very close to me, says Rohit Sharma
Mohali, Dec 13 (CRICKETNMORE) - India skipper Rohit Sharma (208 not out), who slammed his third double ton to pilot India to a mammoth 392 against Sri Lanka on Wednesday, said the innings which he played against Sri Lanka in
Commenting on the match, Rohit said: "It was a great day. Winning the game was important for me and for the team. After the loss at Dharamsala it was necessary to come back, and what a comeback it was,"
The Mumbai batsman also praised Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer along with debutant Washington Sundar.
"Shikhar gave us a perfect start and Shreyas Iyer, playing his second match, just didn't look like he was playing only his second match. It was great to get the total we got because there was a bit of dew in the end," Rohit said.
"Not the ideal conditions for him (Sundar) to debut but this is how he will learn. He has the talent and he has shown it in the IPL. As a team management we want to back players like him and do not want to put any undue pressure on him. I am sure he must have learnt a lot playing with the wet ball and I wish him all the luck," he added.
